Create a set

Pick an orchestra. Choose your recordings. Arrange them into tandas. Save. That's the whole loop. Here's what each step actually looks like.

before you start

You don't need an account to build a set. You only need one to save it. Sign-in with Google takes one click and the set you've been building doesn't disappear.

The five steps

  1. 01

    Open the builder

    Go to Create. You'll see a grid of empty tanda slots. Use the +/− buttons (or the number input) to change how many tandas your set should hold.

    A typical milonga set has somewhere between 8 and 12 tandas. Don't overthink it. You can add or remove later.

  2. 02

    Pick a genre, then an orchestra

    Click any empty slot. A side panel opens. Choose a genre (Tango, Vals, or Milonga), then an orchestra. The full discography for that orchestra loads, every recording we have data for.

  3. 03

    Filter and pick recordings

    Search by title, filter by year, filter by singer (or instrumental). Pick four recordings for tango, three for vals or milonga, or whatever feels right. Each one comes in with title, singer, year, and a YouTube video already attached.

    Tip: click a recording to preview before adding. The little play indicator lets you audition without committing.

  4. 04

    Arrange and tidy

    Drag tandas to reorder. Drag any tanda onto the bin to delete it. Use the multi-select toolbar to bulk-change genre or remove several at once. Songs inside a tanda can also be re-ordered.

    On touch devices, hold-then-drag. On desktop, just grab and go.

  5. 05

    Save it

    Hit Save. Sign in if you haven't yet (Google, one click). Give the set a title and a cover image, and choose private or public. Public sets show up in Sets; private sets only show in your own list.

    You can flip private ↔ public any time from the set page.

After you save

  • · Share the set URL: anyone with the link can listen, even without an account.
  • · Hit the player. The tracks play one after the other, with cortinas between if configured.
  • · Spotted a wrong video while listening? Use "wrong video" right in the player.
things to watch for
  • Mixed genres in one tanda. Three tangos + one milonga isn't a tanda. The genre badge on each slot helps you spot this.
  • A recording with no video. Rare, but it happens. The track still adds, just paste a YouTube link via "wrong video" when you find one.
  • Refreshing before saving. Drafts aren't auto-saved yet. Save early.

Already have your tandas in a CSV or Apple Music playlist? Skip all of this and import the lot instead.
